About the Flyboard®
Technically, the Flyboard® is an accessory that attaches to the jet discharge of a Personal Watercraft (PWC) and uses the thrust developed by the PWC to propel the device 45 feet above or below the surface of the water. Pumping over 1,000 gallons of water per minute at over 60PSI, the Flyboard® is the newest, most extreme water sport to hit the marketplace and no one can bring you the level of flight excitement quite like we do here at Aquafly.
The Flyboard® is connected to a PWC by a 60 foot long, 4.25" diameter fire hose that can propel the pilot 45 feet in the air or below the surface of the water. Although some people might refer to it as a "jetpack", the Pilot is actually secured on to the Flyboard® with Wakeboard Style Bindings and is propelled by thrust from below his feet, not from his back as the term jetpack might imply. While the Pilot of the Flyboard® is in complete control of the navigation, the Operator on the PWC is in control of the throttle making this a true two-person operation.
The 2015 Flyboard® Pro Series is ready to be unveiled and what an amazing piece of work it is! The brainchild of Franky Zapata, the newest Flyboard® has been designed and engineered by The Air Bus Company of Europe and is constructed using products typically found in Race Cars, Military Jets and in the Aviation Industry. The composition of the materials used have special properties that make it lighter and stronger than its metal counterparts. For that reason, it makes perfect sense to introduce them into the next generation of Flyboard® maintaining its dominance as the standard by which all other Hydro Sports Products are judged.
